I felt not words to be apt for this. So none there were.
There is only Chibi-Usa. Trying to grasp the hand of a dead or dying Usagi. While fading out of existence. She can’t even feel their hands touching as they go right through one another but she won’t stop trying. She can see it though and so she won’t stop trying.
*also-her back bow, I didn’t forget it, it came undone. In case that wasn’t a clear implication.
The proportions….forgive the proportions. I was too far in and so chose to just let it be.
Oh that’s. Oh. Ow.
Chibi-Usa fading away is … there’s a pain I wasn’t expecting. You’ve been talking about doing an “All That’s Left” for Chibs, and somehow I never made the connection that for Chibi-Usa there would literally be nothing left at all.
Now I see their hands, and how Usagi’s hand is curled, just a little. Trying to hold on, as Chibi-Usa herself is trying to hold on, but they just can’t.
And you know what’s really getting me? (I mean besides EVERYTHING.) Usagi’s detransformation. So much of the focus is on Chibs, as it should be, but off to the side are those beautiful ribbons, and the last time anyone will see them, either. But of course, even now Usagi can’t let it be about her.
Basically I feel like Rocky Balboa is training in the meat locker of my heart. Thanks for that.
